Marilyn vs Rita:
The 20th Century introduced the most iconic Hollywood sex symbols and movie stars.  In that category at the top tier was of course Marilyn Monroe.   After Marilyn there were others, some even more beautiful, like Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake.  But it wasn’t until I saw the 1942 classic “You Were Never Lovelier” when Rita Hayworth was paired in a legendary dance routine with the intimidating Fred Astaire, and put him to shame. That experience  is why Rita Hayworth stood head and shoulders above Marilyn when it came to the combination of Beauty AND Talent.  After watching that scene with Astaire,  no one would in my eyes ever come close to Rita Hayworth.   And although Marilyn would always be the greatest Hollywood sex symbol she could never stand up to Rita Hayworth’s multi-talents gifts. 

Condition: Very good. Prior to linen backing it had fold splits and small border tears.  Has been professionally linen backed and looks Amazing!

NOTE:  This Hayworth film was released at the beginning of WW2, four years before her 1946 post WW2 iconic role in "Gilda".     And although "Gilda' one sheets have sold for as much as $78,000 (March 2014),  not even that one sheet had a larger than life close up of the gorgeous Rita Hayworth like this one sheet we are offering here

Truth in advertising is born out by the title of this Rita Hayworth vehicle -- she was never lovelier than in this frothy musical comedy co-starring Fred Astaire. A wealthy Argentine family follows the old tradition that the daughters must marry in order from the eldest to the youngest, not a problem for the oldest of the girls, but when #2 Maria (Hayworth) spins her wheels, there's pressure from her remaining sisters who already have their spouses picked out. The father engineers a "mystery man" to pitch woo to Maria, but is dismayed with an American dancer (Astaire) takes advantage of the deception. This eye-popping B-style one sheet features a stunning image of Hayworth Very Fine- on Linen.
