Remember when it was one of the most anticipated annual events? The family would gather around the TV, typically around Christmas or Easter to watch the most magical film of all time. There were no cell phones, no On Demand, no YouTube , we all had to be sitting together when CBS aired "The Wizard of OZ" or we'd be devastated if we missed it. Recapture that magic by owning this ORIGINAL Theater used movie poster for the 1955 theatrical release of this major motion picture.
Note: The Wizard of OZ had three theatrical releases, 1939, 1949 and 1955 before the rights were sold to CBS and the exciting annual TV American family tradition began for 35 years until technology replaced the Magic with On Demand “programming”. . The 1949 and 1955 re-releases also capitalized on Judy Garland’s new super stardom and promoted her with images from her upcoming films at the time, namely “Harvey Girls” and “A Star is Born”.
