Gorgeous movie theater poster for the 1948 re-release of this western movie masterpiece!  It is the 1939 western classic that is often credited with the "big break" into super stardom for John Wayne, who previously had been primarily doing B movies.   

Paper on this title is very scarce.  A 1939 release one sheet sold in 2007 for $78,000!  The artwork on this Rare vintage poster is amazing with particularly unique artwork of the Duke.  Whereas, the 1939 one sheet does not include the "Duke" in the artwork.   Very good condition and has been professionally linen backed.

A sensational film with enduring appeal, Stagecoach not only redefined the Western as a serious cinematic genre, but made an overnight superstar of John Wayne, who had previously toiled in "B" pictures for studios such as Republic and Monogram. As the Ringo Kid, Wayne is instrumental in getting a group of travelers safely to their destination, revealing hidden truths about each of them along the way. Less a standard Western than an insightful character piece, the film also marks the beginning of director John Ford's love affair with Monument Valley, a location that would figure prominently in a number of his later films. Offered here is a gorgeous one sheet from the 1948 re-release of this classic film. Restoration has addressed fold wear with chipping, tape stains on the borders and folds, and light foxing in the borders.  Has been professionally linen backed and looks AMAZING!
