Gorgeous Original Vintage 1955 Country Bluegrass Concert Poster (14x22")

If you’ve ever wished to own one of the most impressive vintage country concert posters ever created,  this is certainly a worthy candidate

When you were a kid you probably didn’t know their names but you certainly heard them singing countless time, the theme song to the 1960s hit TV show, “Beverly Hillbillies”.

One of the nicest vintage concert posters we’ve seen.  A Rare style 1955 concert poster with period advertising for Martha White Mills, along with terrific images of Flatt and Scruggs, .  You’ll be hard pressed to discover a Gem like this!  Very  good condition.  Had been previously folded but no color breakage on front.    A particularly exciting find.

Flatt & Scruggs 1955 West Virginia High School Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising bluegrass legends Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and their Foggy Mountain Boys playing at McComas High School in West Virginia on Saturday evening, August 27, 1955. Amazing ticket prices are given as 75 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. In further quaintness, the show was sponsored by local Boy Scout Troop No. 42, and the tour was sponsored on the airwaves by Martha White Mills, creators of flour and corn meal products, as pictured prominently on the poster. Collectors usually love the involvement of Martha White on their 1950's country and bluegrass concert posters, it just adds such genuineness and puts them in such a time capsule.

Measures  14" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. Poster was once quarter-folded down to fit into Hatch Show Print's filing cabinets. Fortunately, no color is broken along the two folds. Very lightly bumped corners and the expected light toning in the borders from the passage of six decades. On the verso, the creases have not been reinforced and the horizontal fold, in particular, has broken the cardboard all the way across and weakened the board's structural integrity. So it flexes easily but lies flat nicely and this problem would vanish if it were framed. One could apply their own strong tape over these creases and considerably strengthen this window card. Also, "55" is written in pen in one of the corners, presumably by Hatch.

Beverly Hillbillies:
Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs (portrayed by themselves in seven episodes, 1963–68) are longtime friends of the Clampetts "back home" (Kimberling City, Missouri), who visit the Clampetts when they are on tour in California. The duo had a number-one Billboard country single with the show's "The Ballad of Jed Clampett"
