By the time Joe "The Brown Bomber" Louis made this film in 1949, he was already one of the world's greatest athletes, having won the World Championship in 1936 in a fight with James J. Braddock. Louis successfully defending that title over two dozen times over the course of his career. Well-known for his clean living and deeply-help personal moral code, Louis was a hero to fans worldwide, both before and after World War II. There is a brief appearance by the Mills Brothers
