Very rare and original, 1910, Advance Program / Souvenir Booklet from “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West and Pawnee Bill's Far East”. This rare and wonderful onsite "Program" from Buffalo Bill’s Traveling Extravaganza measures approx. 7” x 10” and contains 32 pages of text and illustrations relating to the show, its’ history, Buffalo Bill’s past as the Chief of the U.S. Army Scouts, the American West, Indian Fighting, Cowboys and many other aspects of the performers and the show. It is titled on the cover "Buffalo Bill Bids You Good Bye". Sub-title reads "A Life Story and Book of Brave Deeds of the Wild West and Far East / The Farewell Salute / Magazine and Official Review".

This Program also includes the 8 page insert giving the complete listing of the show's program that included 19 "Episodes". This Insert was published for 5 performances in Massachusetts during the month of May, 1910 and includes local adverts from the cities where the Show appeared on this part of the tour.

In 1910 Buffalo Bill Cody began what would become a 3 year "Farewell" Tour with a combined show of his own "Wild West" and Pawnee Bill's "Far East". This Program is from the 1910 season and was sold on site at performances of the Show. There was a separately issued "Daily Event Program" which is often found tipped in or inserted into examples of the Souvenir Booklet offered here. The Program offered here does include the 8 page insert at the front with an actual list of events in the performance.

The front cover of the Program is chromolithographed and features a full figure portrait of William “Buffalo Bill” Cody dressed in his trademark buckskin jacket and hip high boot extenders. Cody has removed his hat and is saluting the unseen crowd and in the opposite hand he holds a repeating rifle (likely a Winchester). In the background is an image of a Native American Indian Village and at the lower right hand corner a conjoined bust portrait of Cody and Pawnee Bill. The rear cover features an ad for the early "Motorette" Automobiles and Motorcycles and the inside front cover feature full page chromolithograph advertisements for Walter Baker Chocolate. The inside rear cover has a wonderful, color advertisement for the Pabst Brewing Company’s Pabst Beer.

Besides the numerous photographic and artistic images and text contained in the Booklet, there are also a number of advertisements for very early automobiles, cigars, firearms, etc.

Articles in this "Review" include - "In Union There is Strength"-Pawnee Bill and Buffalo Bill, Valedictory by Buffalo Bill; "A Terse Compilation of Frontier History" by J.M. B-5 pages; "Major Gordon W. Lillie-Pawnee Bill" - 2 pages; "A Horse's Tale" by Mark Twain - 2 pages; "Headquarters Division of the Missouri" by Brig. General W. F. Cody, From Gen. "Phil" Sheridan's Autobiography; "From an Old Commander" - By W. T. Sherman; "Death of Yellowhand-Revenge for Custer, The Story of the Battle of Summit Springs (Colorado) and Skirmish at Elephant Rock" - 4 pages; "Summary of a Half Century's Events, Deeds, Exploits and Achievements in Buffalo Bill's Active Life" - 12 pages.

This very rare and fascinating, 1910 Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Pawnee Bill's Far East Advance Program / Souvenir Booklet is printed on a rather delicate paper stock and bound in its original, chromolithographed paper wrappers which are in very good condition - tight and intact with a small chip at the lower left hand corner but with no other physical damage of any kind. There is some soiling to both the front and rear covers but overall the wrappers are well preserved and display nicely. The interior pages are in excellent condition - complete and tight – clean and crisp throughout. The 8 page Insert is also in excellent condition.

A rare and wonderful, 1910 Advance Program / Souvenir Booklet from “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West and Pawnee Bill's Far East” and a fantastic addition to any collection!!
