Batman "Bat Laffs" Series Bio:
The 1966 Topps Batman “Bat Laffs Series” (often referrred to as the "Color cards")set consists of 55 standard-sized, 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" cards. The name is derived from the title used for the campy jokes featured on the back of each card. Each card bears a color photographic image from the television – including stars Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin - with a black pinstripe, a circle with the card's number and a white border. The majority of the card backs feature the words "Bat Laffs" printed above a silly question incorporating the word “bat” in the answer; the answer appears below every question, printed upside down in a small font. A few of the card backs did not have a caption, but all of the Bat Laff cards feature a color photographic image puzzle. This edition is considered to be the most difficult “Batman” issue for modern hobbyists to acquire in high grade.
